About
The Bijou Cinema is a non-profit, student-run cinema screening independent, art house, foreign, and classic cinema. Established in 1972, the Bijou Cinema has built a reputation as one of the preeminent student-run theaters in the nation. The cinema screens a variety of new releases and classic films, with year-round screenings, six days a week, except during University holidays and recesses.
Organizational Structure
The cinema is run by a 24-member volunteer Board of Directors, under the leadership of the Executive Director and Programming Director. Email bijouui.executive@gmail.com for more information on the Board of Directors, or watch our website for opportunities to volunteer and join.
The Bijou’s annual operating budget is partially funded by a portion of the student activity funds allocated through UISG and ECGPS, the remainder of our budget is financed by ticket and concessions sales.
