Brianna Bohling-Hall

Biography

Brianna Bohling-Hall (she/her) is a fourth-year BA in Religious Studies and Journalism at the University of Iowa. Coming from Chicago, IL, she was blessed enough to have lived by the Music Box Theatre for most of her childhood, where her absolute love for arthouse films and underground animation was born. Her favorite films sometimes change, but the ones who will always hold a special place in her heart include The Secret of Kells (2009), Paprika (2006), Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977), Parasite (2019), and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975). Outside of classes and film, she is a Peer Mentor for the Journalism School, a nonfiction editor and Equity Committee cofounder for earthwords, and a cofounder of the Religious Studies Undergrad Steering Committee. You can find her criticizing English translations of Japanese media, dancing in the streets to city-pop, or staring aimlessly at her calendar.
