Jeremy Laughery (he/they) is a first-year MA in Film Studies student at UIowa. He hails from Lubbock, TX, where he regularly hounded his local Alamo Drafthouse to play better and weirder films. Some of his all-time favorites are Fail Safe (1964), Lake Mungo (2008), Black Christmas (1974), Escape from New York (1981), and Brief Encounter (1945), but he regularly plumbs the depths of the found footage horror subgenre for the nichest possible gems. Outside of film, he also loves board and video games.
